Description

Emergency Response Mechanism (ERM) for covering IDPs, returnees, and host communities

About the Service

Action Against Hunger (AAH), through Emergency Response Mechanism (ERM), provides support to families that are affected by conflict and natural disasters. The targeted areas are selected based on the needs and incidents of the communities with the coordination of the Directorate of Refugees and Repatriation (DoRR), Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA), and OCT members at the provincial level.

AAH supports host communities after the vulnerability score is assessed, which meets the threshold for assistance. The organization also supports vulnerable health and human services through the provision of multi-purpose cash assistance, equivalent to the full 'Minimum Expenditure Basket, through a lump sum of 21,000AFN as a one-shot package.

In case of joint responses, AAH provides the affected Health and Human Services (HHS) with a reduced Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) package (increasing the number of people supported). Cash for work assistance will also be considered for returnees.
